This program about flight is absolutely amazing! The archival footage alone regarding the history of aviation make this program worth watching, if for no other reason. The program is a fascinating look into the beginnings of commercial flight and the ever increasing desire for speed in the air. Beginning with the first airplane designed by the Wright Brothers to air-racing aircraft, the Rocket Plane, the X-Planes (X-15, X-30), make this program a must, must see for any aviation buff!! A rocket-powered aircraft or rocket plane is an aircraft that uses a rocket for propulsion, sometimes in addition to air breathing jet engines. Rocket planes can achieve much higher speeds than similarly sized jet aircraft, but typically for at most a few minutes of powered operation, followed by a glide. Unhindered by the need for oxygen from the atmosphere they are suitable for very high altitude flight. They are also capable of delivering much higher acceleration and shorter takeoffs. The development of Space Ship One, first flown in 2003, and XCOR Aerospace's EZ-Rocket, are some of the more recent rocket powered aircraft to be developed. The X-planes are a series of experimental United States airplanes and helicopters (and some rockets) used to test and evaluate new technologies and aerodynamic concepts. Some of the X-planes have been well publicized, while others, such as the X-16, have been developed in secrecy. The first, the Bell X-1, became well known after it became, in 1947, the first aircraft to break the sound barrier in level flight. Later X-planes supported important research in a multitude of aerodynamic and technical fields, but only the North American X-15 rocket plane of the early 1960s achieved comparable fame to that of the X-1 plane. X-planes were actually missiles (used to test new types of engines), and some were un-piloted (some were remotely flown, some were full-on drones). Most X-planes are not expected to go into full-scale production; one exception is the Lockheed Martin X-35, which competed against the Boeing X-32 during the Joint Strike Fighter Program, and has entered production as the F-35. The X-30 plane is capable of reaching speeds of 15,000 miles per hour. Faster than a speeding bullet....

FedEx Flight 705 was a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 ferrying electronics to San Jose, California, United States, that experienced an attempted hijacking for the purpose of a suicide attack on April 7, 1994. On that day, Auburn Calloway, a FedEx employee facing possible dismissal for lying about his previous flying experience, boarded the scheduled flight with several concealed hammers and a speargun. His plan was to disable the aircraft's cockpit voice recorder before take-off and once airborne he intended to kill the crew using blunt force so their injuries would appear consistent with an accident rather than a hijacking. After taking control he then planned to intentionally crash the aircraft into Federal Express' Memphis headquarters. Ultimately Calloway's goal was to maximize damage to his employer whilst appearing to be killed in an accident while still an employee, making his family eligible for a $2.5 million life insurance policy paid by Federal Express. Calloway's plan was unsuccessful. The crew was able to fight back despite severe wounds, subdue him, and safely land the aircraft. An attempt at a mental health defense was unsuccessful and he was subsequently convicted of multiple charges including attempted murder, attempted air piracy, and interference with flight crew members receiving two consecutive life sentences. Calloway's appeal was successful in having his conviction for interference with flight crew members ruled as a lesser included offense of attempted air piracy. The crew was left with permanent, disabling injuries and have not flown professionally since.

[MUST Watch Debate] Ahmed Deedat VS Pastor Stanley Sjoberg: Is The Bible The Word of God? Is The Bible The Word of God? - Debate - Sheikh Ahmed Deedat VS Pastor Stanley Sjoberg About Sheikh Ahmed Deedat: In 1986, the King Faisal Foundation awarded the King Faisal International Prize for SERVICE TO ISLAM, to a South African who is more or better known than many dignitaries in their own countries. This was the first time that this prestigious award has been awarded to a South African. The recipient of this award was a man totally dedicated to his faith and its propagation and who was not afraid to challenge any one to a debate to settle once and for all the matter, who has the good news right? He was none other than Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, reverently known and called UNCLE by those who hold him in high esteem and admiration. The award came after a lifetime of struggle to propagate Islam and to defend Islam against the onslaught of the missionaries. Finally, he was given recognition by the international Muslim community that he deserved and focused more sharply the attention of the Muslim world on the most important aspect of his work, the challenge to propagate Islam. This was his life long ambition to focus the Muslim world's attention and resources on the propagation of Islam, and at last he succeeded. What a moment of jubilation, achievement and personal gratification for Sheikh Deedat the award was, a turning point in his life. Sheikh Deedat did not have much formal schooling, but he was self-taught through experience and a penchant for reading, debating, discussion, and a profound sense of commitment to a mission and goal. He was driven and goal oriented. He was focused and never let up until the job was done. He was sharp, perceptive, forthright, fiery, and daring in his challenge of those whom he debated, particularly against those who equal his missionary zeal and sense of audacity. Formal schooling did not destroy his creative prowess, his tenacity, ambition, drive, and sheer daring to swim upstream. Sheikh Deedat was more a scholar of the Bible than the Qur'an, and was more familiar and adroit with its teachings. He had an insight and perspective of the Bible which made many Christians he came into contact with rethink and re-examine their faith, particularly those aspects of the Bible and the Qur'an that deal with the divine mission and life of Prophet Jesus. On May 3, 1996, Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered a stroke which left him paralyzed from the...
